CLICK HERE to be whisked away to my new home!
What do you think of this? This is my first ATC (as it is helpfully labled!) and I made it on a whim to enter Tangie Baxter’s blog challenge a couple of weeks ago, and guess what! I was one of the winners! Hooray! I won $5 at her shop, which I then used to purchase her full size altered art kit. I think I’m gonna work some altered art and trading cards into my colour challenge, which I have to start working on today.
Here’s the Cheesecake update. I can’t remember if I mentioned it in the last post, but Vince brought her to the vet just a short while after we got her back from the shelter so we could get her fixed. I know, I know puppies are cute, but it’s against post regulations for pets to procreate, and Vince already got a citation for “failure to control” her, so we didn’t want to chance another violation. Best to take care of what we were planning on taking care of anyway. So she came home this morning, meek and slow and repentant. Unfortunately I can’t bring her in the living room right now, although I really want to. Poor thing was in a shelter, then here for less than 24 hours, then in another shelter, then at the vet, which was a lot like a shelter, but with torture. Now she’s here on the other side of the baby gate. I just don’t want her to poop on the carpet (which seems to be her preferred place to poop) and I also don’t want to risk her getting Jenni-cized, especially while she’s fragile. Poor baby. And poor Dana-doggie outside, spazzing up the joint and tilling the yard like she farms for a living. I wish we could find a family with teenage boys who go outside (unlike Quinn, who’s definitely an IN-doorsy type) to take her and romp with her like she needs it.
It’s a good day, folks! I finally got my challenge posting bonuses up, so be sure to hop by DSO and check them out. My challenges are Book of Me– where this month we are talking about transcending hardships and making personal triumphs, and the Lyric challenge-where this month we are scrapping True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. You know you wanna go!
Finally, Boyerville will very soon be packing up and moving to Blogger! The site needed an overhaul, and I didn’t want to do it, so I took advantage of the 20% discount I got for entering Freestyle Mamma’s Custom Blog Makeover
contest. I didn’t win, but heck. I was dreading doing it so much that I ponied up some dough and asked Diana to do it for me! She’s doing an awesome job using my Muses Mistake stuff to decorate my new digs, I know you’re gonna love the new place! I sure do! The new address is very difficult to remember- instead of Boyervillescraps.wordpress, it’s gonna be boyervillescraps.blogspot. I know, I know, it’s tough, but I’ll give you a link.
Oh, and real quick- American Idol- Best performance of the night was David Cook doing that super spooky version of Hello. And I wanted to hit Randy Jackson with my shoe for thinking that “Don’t You Forget About Me” is by INXS. Silly man! He was in the music biz in the 80’s, he should know it’s by Simple Minds. Yikes.
This is Cheesecake.
Vince brought her home yesterday afternoon from the shelter in the next town over. They said “Spaniel,” but after looking her over I think she’s Aussie shepherd and Beagle- two very smart kinds of dogs! The idea was to have a house dog and a friend for Dana, the crackhead outside dog we have. She’s a real sweetie. Just affectionate and loving. Has a little problem peeing and pooping on the carpet when my husband isn’t looking so I can clean it up, but other than that she’s a peach. Oh, and she’s in heat, gotta get her fixed.
Anyhoo, this morning she took a big dump on the carpet and I put her outside so I could clean it up before one of the girls touched it or something. Cleaned it up, five minutes later I went to get her back inside and she was gone. ARRRGGGHHH!!! I freaked out, called everyone- the housing office, the Vet clinic and the shelter here on post, and my husband. Atha’s like, “Where’s Cheesecake, Mommy?”
Found her a few hours later. She was at the shelter on post. How much you all wanna bet she’s pregnant?
BTW, she hates Dana. Apparently Dana is too much of a spaz for her, too. Now what do we do with Dana? Well, maybe it’s too early to say. They may start getting along in the future. Baby steps!
Still feeling funky, wishing that there wasn’t this much excitement, but whatever. I’m drinking lots of water.
Here’s a LO I would like to share with you. Whaddaya think?
I did this for round one in Gotta Pixel’s March Mania competition.
We had to use 16 items. They are listed as follows with their credits:
2 patterned papers- Lori Davison’s Twitterpated Passion Play
3 solid papers-2 from Blushbutter’s Gentle kit, one from Ztampf Compassionette
1 frame- Hope the window counts! It’s from Blushbutter’s Gentle kit
2 ribbons-both from Gentle
4 flowers-all from Gentle
2 alphas- blue alpha and Grunge alpha 2 by Anja J
2 photos- I used Heather Manning’s soft sepia on the bottom one. Both are my li’l Jen Jen!
Here is a fun and goofy LO’s today. This first one I did for K-Fish (aka Fishinmom)’s “I Can’t Believe You Scrapped That” challenge at DSO. She wanted us to scrap weird photos and this definitely is one. I don’t think I could have taken a worse photo of him if I’d tried. I used Kristine (you know, the Wench- Wenchd Grafix)’s new Emerald Isle kit (on sale NOW, WOW!!) for everything in it, but I had some assistance for the cool journal banner- I used one of Helena Jole’s Journal-Ons as a template.
This is Atha’s pal Jordan really really enjoying balloons at Atha’s birthday last weekend. I thought that he just looked excited enough to jump out of his skin. I was going for a super duper 3D look with the balloons, did I succeed? I’ve been playing a lot with drop shadows lately trying to get this effect, not sure how well it came out this time. I used AnjaJ’s really fun and bright Happy Easter kit for everything here.
Cheez Whiz, I woke up with the meanest headache today, think it might be turning out to be a migraine. Which is why maybe I’m not so lively. Yikes! But I did want to share these LO’s with ya, hope you likee!
Hey, look, it’s a freebie! Click on the preview to DL. You get three papers, a stitched and be-buttoned flower, a doodle flower, a button, a frame and the title word art. I am in the debt of miss KIM BRODELET for some absolutely beautiful commercial use items I used, namely some fantabulous overlays, as well as the gwargeous flowers!! WOW!
I had uploaded this last night, with a different preview, but I had been in a rush when I made that preview (the girls were sleeeeee-py!) and this morning when I got up I decided that I hated the preview and made this new one. So for the folks who dl’d it last night, it’s the same thing, just with a better preview. When you dl you’ll see the older preview inside and then it will be very clear why I ditched that one. YUK!!
So Vince went back to work today. It will end up being his second week in a row with only two work days. Which is good because work had been really driving him nuts. He was really a pleasure to have around the last couple of days, probably because he’d been able to de-stress a bit. Hopefully he can retain a bit of this peaceful nature into the weeks ahead. He might really think that he’s internalizing his stress, but he’s wrong.
Does anybody here FLY ? As in Finally Loving Yourself, as in Flylady.net? I’ve tried to do this a couple of times, and would like to give it another go, but yikes, there is SO MUCH email! If anybody has any hints, I’d love to hear them.
Okay, gonna get this up and onto the blog trains!
DA Wench asked me to be on her CT! So I said yes, of course! I love Kristine! Here’s a LO I did with her Candied Ginger kit, and with Donna Rafferty’s journal bits. My third Magical Dreamer LO, and I can only imagine there will be more.
Atha’s toe is all better. At one point she did stub it again, and started crying a little bit. I asked her what hurt and she said, “My toe.” like “What else?” And then she said, “But just a little bit.” She’s all better now, and spunky as can be.
Vince is fine too. Still can’t eat many solids, but he did manage to put back some scrambled eggs and some steamed broccoli later. Couldn’t eat any rice because it kept going in the holes. But he’ll be fine tomorrow.
American Idol- the girls were not very good, I didn’t think. Some WEIRD song choices. “Carry On Wayward Son????” I think maybe the best was “Crazy on You.” I always like the boys better.
Project Runway (my favorite show, by the way, unless Top Chef is on and then my favorite show is Top Chef. Oh, and I also am in love with House, and I have a great fondness for Special Victims unit as well. But I digress.) Um, yeah. I loved Chris on the show because I loved his fun personality. I never was crazy about Rami. But I think that they made the right choice sending Rami and not Chris. Although Christian will win, and that’s as it should be. He’s SO talented, if kind of a b*tch.
BTW, I am aware that the blog needs a huge overhaul. All I can say is SOON! By the weekend, at the latest.
Also, today Atha’s foot is hurting her a lot. We think it’s because Vince clipped her big toenail too short by accident and she stubbed it and it hurts, but by the end of the night she was whimpering every time she stepped on it, so if it still hurts tomorrow I may need to take her to the emergency room, which is excessive, but it’s impossible to get a same day appointment so that’s what you have to do. Silly, eh? But at least Vince will be home so I can leave Jenny with him and take Atha. Let’s just pray that she feels better tomorrow.
In the midst of all that, I did manage to make this LO with AnjaJ’s stuff. It’s mostly her Melli kit, which is super pretty, don’t you think? Click on it for full credits. This is Quinn, Saturday night. He got dressed up for an Oscar party. He was checking himself out in the bathroom mirror- that’s what you are seeing here. I snuck up on him and took this photo. What do you think? I think he looks pretty sharp!
Well maybe I can get a freebie done for you tomorrow. We’ll see!
